Background Information

The Trust was established in 1991, in the "first wave" of Trusts. It ran the hospital, community services and mental health & learning disability services across South Devon.

The Trust now manages the district general hospital in Torquay (Torbay Hospital). The local Primary Care Trusts run community services, and the Devon Partnership Trust has taken on responsibilities for mental health & learning disability services.

We work closely with the local NHS Organisations which cover South Devon - NHS Devon, Torbay and with the Plymouth and Cornwall area.
